How to use Free HTML5 Video Player and Converter

Step 1.  Download Free HTML5 Video Player and Converter

This is an absolutely free program. There is no spyware or adware. It's completely safe to install and run!

Step 3. Step 2. Launch Free HTML5 Video Player and Converter

Go to Start > All Programs > DVDVideoSoft > Programs > Free HTML5 Video Player and Converter or just click the DVDVideoSoft Free Studio icon on your desktop.

The interface is very simple and self-explanatory. There is a field for input files, a field for an output path, and lists with preconfigured profiles. If you want to change the theme (program skin), go to Options → Theme.

Step 4. Select Input Video Files

Click the “Add files…” button to select an input video file(s) from your computer.

Input file formats: *.avi; *.ivf; *.div; *.divx; *.mpg; *.mpeg; *.mpe; *.mp4; *.m4v; *.webm; *.wmv; *.asf; *.mov; *.qt; *.mts; *.m2t; *.m2ts; *.mod; *.tod; *.vro; *.dat; *.3gp2; *.3gpp; *.3gp; *.3g2; *.dvr-ms; *.flv; *.f4v; *.amv; *.rm; *.rmm; *.rv; *.rmvb; *.ogv; *.mkv; *.ts.

Free HTML5 Video Player and Converter: set output file name

By default, the output file name is the same as the video title. If you’d like to change it, click the “Output Name…” button. A new window will open.

There are various parameters in it (Name Prefix, Postfix and others) which you can set to your liking.

In the bottom of this window, you can see the pattern of the output file name. It's formed according to the current options.

Note: the pattern is the same for all output files during one session; it's not allowed to set a unique pattern for each file.

Step 5. Select Output Location

Click the “Browse...” button and choose the location where you would like to save your converted video files. Click “Ok”.

If you want to access the output folder content, click “Open”.

Step 6. Select Presets

In the Formats list, there is always HTML5 video, but in fact you get two videos: one is in *.mp4 format and the other is in *.ogv format. Your browser supports one of these formats. The player will choose which of these 2 files is supported by the browser you are using.

In the Presets list, select one of the available pre-configured presets.

Note: HTML5 video is supported by the following browsers: Internet Explorer 9+, Chrome 3.0+, Firefox 3.5+, Safari 3.1+, Opera 10.5+, Android 2.0+, and iOS 2.0+.

Click the “Player...” button to open a new window.

Select one of the available player themes.

Click “OK” to switch back to the main program window.

Step 7. Convert Video

Click the “Convert” button along the bottom of the interface and wait until the video is converted.

Note: Before clicking the “Convert” button, you can set it to turn off the computer after the process is complete. Just go to “Options...” and make sure the appropriate box is checked.

Step 8. Playback Converted File

Open the folder with the output files and run the HTML file.

Step 9. Place the HTML5 Video on Your Site
