Hi, Shaniah. could you specify what program, what version and what preset you use to get video for your iPod? Posted 1 month ago # |

Hi! I love your software, have been using it for a while now. But, I am having the same problem as the one listed above, I cannot transfer the converted video file onto the Ipod as it cannot be played on this Ipod. Up to yesterday, I never had the problem with either the software or the Ipod, so I can't figure it out. Here's my specs and what I have done to date to try and correct it. If all else fails, I will go through the suggestion above to bring it into the library and then select 'Create Ipod or Iphone version'. --Ipod: classic 30Gb --Itunes and Ipod: all up to date with most recent version (though i haven't even looked into the firmware update situation...i had assumed when Itunes asks you to update your Ipod this was also firmware related, but perhaps not. --Free Video to Ipod converter version 4.2 something (the latest release on your site as of today--I had been using a slightly earlier version, but unistalled it and reinstalled the newest) --original file: ---.avi --conversion choice: Apple Ipod Classic Economy (wanted to just test the conversion before trying my usual choice of Normal quality) I actually really prefer the older conversion program, 3.1 something I think, but when I went to your listed link to download it, I first tried to download the package and it kept getting stuck at about 34% and not progressing further. I then tried to just download the YouTube to Ipod converter (which I used to use as it had capability to handle files and worked really nicely, was pretty quick too). But downloading the program itself not in the package didn't work when I tried to launch it, there was an error message. I also have an Ipod Nano (4thG) which is fine with the converted files I have tried to add to the classic, so i am a bit baffled. I'm now going to attempt converting it for mobile phone as was also suggested in this forum, but wanted to let you know the problem I'm having. Oh, my kids love the YouTube downloader, they use it on a daily basis :) Posted 1 month ago # |

Hi again! So, I converted my file set to the Mobile phone conversion, and the file now plays on my Ipod classic. This is one workaround to the Ipod classic problem it seems. Posted 1 month ago # |

This is how I solved the problem of "you cnat download this because your ipod cant play this video". Open itunes, highlight the video then click advanced (top left corner) and click create ipod or iphone version. itunes will actually create a new version that you can download to your ipod, and you can just get rid of the older version since the new one is already saved in the itunes file on your hard drive.
