I recently loaded the new program and since then, I can't load the video to my ipod. I can play the video on my library just find, but I can't transfer it to my ipod. I get an error message that says "video was not copied to the ipod because it cannot be played on this ipod". I've loaded a lot of videos on this program in the past, but have not ran across this issue before. Can anyone help? Posted 10 months ago # |

However when i sync my ipod, the message saying that the video cannot be played on my ipod appears. Why?! The video format is mp4. Thanks to everyone who can help me! Posted 5 months ago # |

Make sure you have the latest version of your iPod firmware. And please specify the program you use - YouTube to iPod Converter or Video to iPod Converter? Posted 5 months ago # |

I have the same problem with the new youtube to ipod converter 3.1.4.54 and my 5th generation video ipod. I select high quality. The vids play in itunes but I get the error ""video was not copied to the ipod because it cannot be played on this ipod" after I sync. The last version I had worked fine. I worked around this by using the video to ipod converter to convert the "youtube to ipod" MP4s, but that is a pain and greatly increases the file sizes. Posted 5 months ago # |

I would just think that if i got a video from iTunes, i shouldn't have to convert or anything to play it on THEIR product... Posted 5 months ago # |

It happens for out-of-date iPod firmware. Just update it and I think you won't have any problems. Anyway we'll adjust our program to all firmware versions. Posted 4 months ago # |

revchux, I don't understand exactly what program you use - AVS Video Converter? Free Video to iPod Converter? or Free YouTube to iPod Converter? Posted 4 months ago # |

Just downloaded all of the new free updated software and am still having the same problem the others are having. I've tried using the Youtube to Ipod converter and I've also tried the longer way around by using the Youtube download and then converting the video for Ipod. I still get the error when I try to sync the Ipod. Video will play in I-Tunes, but won't transfer to the Ipod. HELP! Posted 3 months ago # |

I have the same problem, that is, the converted video plays on iTunes but can't be copied to iPod with the following error message: "... was not copied to this iPod ... because it cannot be played on this iPod". Setup: - Free Video to iPod Converter 3.2.1.54 - iTunes 8.2.1.6 - This is the iPod I have: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#ipodfifth iPod (5th generation) (also known as iPod with video or Fifth Generation iPod) Year-Month introduced: 2005-10 Software Version: 1.3 (updated today via iTunes, not sure if this the firmware you suggested). Maybe my iPod is too old? Thanks! Posted 3 months ago # |

I have gigabytes of flv videos and none of them worked. But I've found a solution. After using the DVDVideoSoft program to convert an flv file to an mp4 file and then adding the mp4 file to iTunes, right click the file and select "Create iPod or iPhone Version". iTunes will generate a corresponding m4v file. This m4v file, which is typically less than 1/3 of the size of the original mp4 file (using preset: iPod Classic High Quality), can be copied to iPod with no problem. It looks like the main difference between DVDVideoSoft generated mp4 file and iTunes generated m4v file is the Total Bit Rate. It's somewhere greater than 2000 kbps in the mp4 file versus less than 800 kbps in the m4v file. Your program now works with every flv file I have. Thanks so much for your time and effort!!
