How to burn movies to DVD, VCD, SVCD:

Step 1. Download AVS Video Converter

You can try out the Windows-only Video Converter to burn DVD for free, but a watermark will appear throughout your video. If you're serious about converting video and burning DVD, purchase the program for US$39; the variety of supported file formats makes it worth it.

Step 2. Launch AVS Video Converter

Start > All Programs > AVS4YOU > Video > AVS Video Converter 6

Step 3. Select Output File Type

Click To DVD to convert video and burn DVD

Click the To DVD button along the top of the interface.

Step 4. Choose Video Files to Convert and Burn DVD

Click Browse to open files to convert and burn DVD

Click the uppermost Browse button on the right. Navigate to the location where you keep your video files or DVDs, and select the video that you would like to convert and burn to DVD or VCD. Click Open.

Note: AVS Video Converter is a batch converter. So you can open several video files (even of different formats) at once and burn them to a DVD.

Step 5. Select Output Location (Temp Folder)

Click Browse to select output location for DVD video files

Click the bottom Browse button on the right. Choose the location where you would like to store a temporary video DVD folder on your computer hard disc. Click Save.

Note:If you want to burn a video file or files that have a combined duration of more than 1 hour, you have to set the output location that has at least 5 GB of free disk space.

Do not set a DVD drive as an output location!!!

Step 6. Select Output Format Profile

Burn DVD

In the list of Profiles select one of the available DVD burning profiles.

Note:Select NTSC profiles for USA and Canada and PAL for Europe.

Step 7. Convert Video

Click Convert Now to convert video and burn DVD

Click Convert Now and step away from the computer (processor performance will be seriously affected during conversion). If you want to watch the progress while you convert, click the Advanced button until the viewing screen pops out of the bottom.

Step 8. Burn DVD

Click Start burning to burn converted files to DVD

Insert a blank CD or DVD media. Select DVD burner from the list (if you have more than one). And click Start burning!

That’s all! In about half an hour you will have a DVD ready for your home DVD player.

Step 9. Create DVD Chapters (optional)

Click Edit to open the editing window and then burn DVD

If you want to split your future DVD into chapters, click Edit along the top of the interface before clicking Convert Now! (step 7: Convert Video).
