As I see you've already solved the problem, correct? because the player is black and the video playbacks fine.
Concerning your question, you can use swf player with other flv files, it has to work

Livio

it works fine. But can I insert 2 or more flv file in xml to play them in sequence?
Thank you

yes, you can, you should press the Player button in the program and select "Multi" player type, that's all, then you can convert files. You'll get one player with a playlist of clips

In most of the issues about efficiency of code, the administrator, as noted, requests the link to non-functional page.
Definitely, he is right, because without this link, it is difficult to help.

anica, do you have difficulties with the code? Why did you posted it here? Please describe your problem

After restarting the modem and pc to be sure, while playing the sample vid on the multi player the end screen would still freeze the page, links would not work and it was not possible to replay the vid, the only fix was to drag the scrollbar back to the very start, then it would unfreeze the page. same code as above..

hi thanks for the quick reply. i changed it and that did not work for me, it just disabled the player. i just wanted the loading bar to be visible so people would know if it has frozen because it needs time to load or if its something else. thats ok no biggie. thanks for providing the free software, looking forward to the bug fix. :-)

I've got the same problem as Delgaarn in the first topic. Flv does not work, e.g. in FireFox, Safari, but does in IE. No matter, what kind of player. Seems to be depended on local settings of the browsers or internet connection or something else. This problem has occured only since FS ver. 4.xx.

Start Image
I ws trying to set a start image for the video while it was buffering. I was able to do it on my hard drive but i was unable to make it work on the web. BELOW is the current configuration
under <param name="startimage" value="www.blackdiamondriders.net/start_frame.jpg" />
i tried first the picture name of homepage.jpg that didnt work. Renamed to start_frame.jpg that didnt work. Remember some of the documentation saying it needs the URL.
Tried ="blackdiamondriders.net/start_frame.jpg" /> no luck and left it at current setting that doesnt work. It must be something simple but cant figure it out.
2nd how could i put a frame around the video or a different player

I don't exactly understand how you could show start image on your pc (while video was buffering) because it's set to display the picture only when you click Stop button. Anyway I changed some code lines, may be that's what you need:

<param name="showtitleandstartimage" value="1" />
<param name="title" value="" />
<param name="startimage" value="start_frame.jpg" /> <!-- it's unnecessary to specify the full path here because in your case the image is in the same folder as the other files -->

As for the frame, there is a parameter "margin":

<param name="margin" value="10" />
it adds frame around the player, not around video

by the way, about the sound track for that video, what band is it? I like this music )))

This is a new thread but I'm assuming I just tag it on here.

I'm successfully using player_flv_maxi.swf to stream .flv's from my website so thanks for that.

Now I want to get a bit more clever by adjusting the size of my video clip's display to match the size of my user's monitor display. The size of the video clip is specified in my html and in the corresponding xml.

I've set up a javascript to tell me what my user's display characteristics are and can therefore adjust my html on the fly but how can I adjust the xml setting on the fly?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Alice
Administrator
Hi!
You can adjust xml settings as well. So, you open the file with your player settings, it is in your output folder. It should be called as your video, f.e MyVideo.flv corresponds to MyVideo.xml You can find "width" value and "height" value parameters there, and then set them.

Ian Macleod
Member
Thanks for this Alice.

I wonder if I phrased my question well enough or indeed if my wording "ON THE FLY" might be confused with "ON THE FLV".

The thing is I want to change the width and height settings during execution of the html code.

Here's the subject page
http://www.zen102977.zen.co.uk/test/thefool.html
and the other relevant files are stored in http://www.zen102977.zen.co.uk/test/.

I'd like to add code whereby if (screen.height < 1080) the width and height will change to 600/341.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Ian Macleod
Member
The penny suddenly dropped. The easiest way to achieve what I want is to open an initial page (thefool.html), determine the user's screen size there and replace with thefool2.html for a small screen or thefool3.html for a large screen user.

thefool2.html specifies width 600, height 341 and references a matching xml file (fool2.xml).
thefool3.html specifies width 900, height 511 and references a different matching xml file (fool3.xml).

All these at http://www.zen102977.zen.co.uk/test/.

Thanks for your interest.

http://www.zen102977.zen.co.uk/test/ (see above) is now closed. Post any requests to see the files and I'll upload.
